- CHK_WIN3.EXE 19963 09-16-92 Checkers 1.3 (Thatcher, Gregory; $0) is a
- | mouse-based checkers program for Windows 3.
- | Options include 1-2 players and Autoplay.

- | There is on-line help available for those
- | who need it.
- CHESNET.COM 39477 12-17-89 ChessNet 1.1 (Lerner, Jack; $35) lets you
- | play a game of chess over a modem. You could
- | also use it just to play through games on
- | screen. You cannot play the computer,
- | however, which makes the shareware fee for
- | this somewhat exorbitant, considering that
- | Battle Chess and ChessMaster 2100 sell for
- | the same or less. The graphics are good, and
- | the "game replay" is handy.
- OUBLIET.ZIP 21893 09-10-93 Oubliette (A.B. Data Sales, Inc.; $15) is an
- | intriguing board game for Windows. The
- | object is to force the computer opponent's
- | playing pieces off the board or into a hole
- | in the center of the board.
- SHIHTAO.ZIP 352794 09-20-93 Shih Tao 1.5 (Kreisel & Reinartz; $20) is an
- | old asiatic board game for Windows 3.1. The
- | object is to strategically place 66 colorful
- | stones in the board. Features include 3D
- | graphics, help/undo options, load/save
- | games, and more. Requires VBRUN300.
- WAX_WIN.EXE 35480 05-21-92 Waxman 1.2w (Check-Tech Software, Inc.; $?)
- | is a chess game for Windows that you play
- | against the computer. It will let you
- | specify the amount of time the computer can
- | think about its next move. Other options
- | include move analysis, editing of the board
- | to set up special situations, changing
- | sides, and more. Waxman plays a surprisingly
- | strong game. If you like speed chess, set it
- | on 40 moves in five minutes and see if you
- | can beat it.
- WINCHES.EXE 52149 03-06-92 Windows Chess 1.0 (Baker, Daryl; $0) is a
- | game of chess for Windows 3.0. It has good
- | graphics and plays a decent game, though not
- | as strong a game as the DOS-based chess
- | games in the library. We ran into a bug in
- | which it would not let us promote a pawn to
- | the eighth rank. Requires EGA/VGA.
